This gathering was a 3 day event in New Stuyahok for elders to share their traditional knowledge of the Nushagak and Kvichak Rivers' fish habitat. Our elders are "Native Scientists"; they have lived off of the land and seen the changes that have occurred due to development. By fishing, hunting, berry picking, and living on the rivers, they are keyed into the balance of these ecosystems. Information gathered here will be shared with the EPA for the environmental scientific assessment on the Bristol Bay watershed.
